Ed and Stephanie Hersh and their four children Jesse,
Carolyn, Benjamin, and Sarah have lived in Millersville most of their lives.
They have been active in various community organizations and active in local
church ministry in various capacities throughout their lives. Both Ed and
Stephanie grew up on farms in the neighboring York and Dauphin counties
(with PA German heritage), met at Millersville University, and married in
1980.
After teaching Special Education for six years in Lancaster schools, Stephanie
became a stay-at-home mom with the birth of their first child and she
now home-educates all the children. She traveled to China in 1996 to adopt
then three year old Sarah. She also enjoys gardening, cooking, and crafts.
Ed earned two bachelors degrees from MU. The first in German and then
Computer Science. He studied and traveled in Germany during his junior
year at Millersville University. He later worked in software development
for ten years at MU. In 2001 Ed completed a Masters degree in Human Service
Counseling at Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA. Vocationally,
Ed divides his time between pastoral counseling and teaching ministry in the
Church, and computer access
technology instruction at the Susquehanna
Association for the Blind and Vision Impaired. Ed enjoys playing guitar, listening
to worship music and studying international cultures.
Ed also offers counseling
and healing prayer ministry for guests at the B&B. If interested,
inquire about this at reservation time for scheduling purposes.
